He's not from here, nor did he play here. However, his name comes from the same Roman senator for which our town was named. Cincinnatus "Cincy" Powell played eight seasons in theÃ¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â American Basketball AssociationÃ¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â (ABA). After playing college ball at the University of Portland, he went on to play professionally for theÃ¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â Dallas ChaparralsÃ¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â (1967-1970), down the road with theÃ¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â Kentucky ColonelsÃ¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â (1970-1972),Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â Utah StarsÃ¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â (1972-1973), and theÃ¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â Virginia SquiresÃ¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â (1973-1975). He was named to the ABA All-Star team in 1970 and 1971.Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â
